Go right to the Tree that Grows your FAVOURITE apple variety.

Starting about 1860, Salt Spring Island was among the first regions in British Columbia to grow apples (supplying Vancouver and the Lower Mainland) and now grows over 500 varieties apples. Help celebrate our 'fruitful' beginnings at the 18th Salt Spring Island Apple Festival!

  • When: Sunday, October 1, 2017
  • Time: 9:00am to 5:00pm

The Apple Festival map is not released until 9 AM on Sunday October 1st.

Tickets are available at either of our 2 Ticket booths at :

  • Fulford Hall
    or
  • Outside the Ganges Tourist Information Centre.

Cost is $10 per adult, $5 per student and KIDS are FREE.

Your best strategy, is to go directly to the closest ticket booth, buy your ticket and you will get a map. There will be about 20 farms on the tour this year so pick your favourite places to go AND THEN RAMBLE.

Apple Festival Highlights:

  • In 2016, there were over 430 apple varieties on display at Fulford Hall, all grown organically on Salt Spring Island, arranged alphabetically with detailed labels. The task of setting up the collection is performed the night before by a team of about 30 island volunteers, ranging in age from children to senior citizens.

  • Taste about 80  apple varieties at AppleLuscious Organic Orchards and every other orchard will feature their own special varieties.
  • Over twenty varieties of apple pie (150 pies in total) baked by the Pie Ladies
