Disc Golf at Moaut ParkSalt Spring Island is a place for all ages - even teens! From exciting day trips to fun adventures there are no shortage of interesting and exciting things to do! If you have any suggestions for things to add to the list, contact us and let us know! We'd love to hear from you!

  1. Try a new sport: disc golf! Mini-golf is so last year - check out Salt Spring's very own disc golf course in Moaut Park amongst the forest tikis, walking distance from Downtown Ganges! Need a disc? Purchase one at Home Hardware or West Of The Moon!
  2. Ride the bus! You don't need a car to take a tour of Salt Spring, take a bus! Our fabulous transit system (bus map) takes riders to and from Fulford, Vesuvius, Long Harbour (with stops in between!) and loops around Fernwood and Ganges.
  3. Go on a kayaking adventure! Never kayaked before? Need to brush up on your skills? Island Escapes offers several different levels of lessons for beginners and intermediate or head out on a guided tour to harbour hot spots such as Chocolate Beach (don't miss checking out the intricate outhouse in the forest!)
  4. Explore the shore! Visit Ruckle Provincial Park or one of the many beaches on Salt Spring Crab at Fernwood Island to see the incredible sea life which lives under and around the rocks in this unique habitat. Find urchins, crabs, starfish, and if you're lucky, eels and sand dollars!
  5. Keep calm and paddle on! Try your hand at navigating the calm waters of Ganges Harbour on a Stand Up Paddle Board - rent one at the Salt Spring Adventure Co. and keep an eye out for the many marine animals which call the harbour home including starfish, sea urchins, seals, and, if you're lucky, otters and porpises!
  6. Take sail! Drop by the Saltspring Island Sailing Club and sign up for a summer sailing school course offering beginner, intermediate and advanced courses! Summer fun at Stowel LakeSailing is a fantastic way to explore the Gulf Islands and to see what makes the region such a special spot to visit.
  7. Not on Salt Spring Island long enough to learn to sail? You can always hop aboard the L'Orenda and take a guided afternoon tour of the coast of Galiano or Pender Islands while hanging out on the deck with a nice lunch.
  8. You are never too old (or too young!) to enjoy sampling the delicious offerings at Salt Spring Island Cheese! From mild to spicy, there is a flavour for every taste bud! Bring out your inner child and meet the goats - if you're lucky maybe you'll even get up close and pet them!
  9. Choose your own adventure! Pick up or check out the Salt Spring Studio Tour map and pick out the studios and galleries you'd like to see from unique designs to beautiful lavender, mini pigs and more, plan an exciting day traversing the Island to explore!
  10. Catch some air! Visit the Salt Spring Island skate park (behind the Elementary School on Kanaka Road) - try out your tricks and learn new ones with locals and visitors alike!
  11. Round Saltspring RaceGo on a hike! Check out the spectacular boulder fields of Burgoyne Bay, knock on the doors of the Mount Erskine elves, swim and hunt for interesting rocks along the beach at Yeo Point or explore some of Salt Spring's many beaches - if you're really lucky, you might even find a sand dollar or a moon snail shell!
  12. Hunt for tree frogs! Listen for their unmistakable croaks or catch a glimpse of them in the corner of your eye during a hike as it's thrilling to see these little creatures in action!
