  3. Experience the charm of an authentic Salt Spring music experience at the Southend Grooveyard  (128 Holmes Road) with two great shows in September! On September 8th enjoy the musical styling Gregory Alan Isakov which weaves stories of miles and landscapes, and the search for a sense of place. Then on September 19th, experience an eclectic mix of musical theater, bringing together the Texas songwriting tradition with southern storytelling and hot guitar picking by Jonathan Byrd!

Try dozens of different tomato varieties, look for roadside squash, peppers, greens and fruit, dig into mouthwatering baked goods, sweet or savory pies as well as preserves sealed with a gardener's love! Salt Spring Pride Festival | Friday 10th to Sunday 13th | Celebrate Pride with a Salt Spring Island Fall Fairrainbow of colours and join the LGBTQ community at the 11th annual Pride Festival with fun events all weekend long culminating in the colourful Pride Parade and street party in Downtown Ganges!

Salt Spring Island Fall Fair | Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th | 9:00am to 6:00pm | Salt Spring Island Farmers’ Institute: 351 Rainbow Road | Free - $12 | Experience Poultry in Motion and enjoy an egg-cellent experience at the Island's most popular event! Hundreds of people wander through dozens of exhibits showcasing all sorts of farm animals and enjoy demonstrations ranging from sheep shearing to sheep dogs, entertainment, mouthwatering foods (including famous pie!), experience the Musgrave Road Viewsexcitement of the zucchini races, be awed by the giant pumpkins and admire homemade preserves, crafts and much more!   7. See ArtCraft while you still can! Open 10:00am to 4:00pm until September 20th at Mahon Hall (114 Rainbow Road) where you can pursue work from artisans throughout the Gulf Island all under one roof!
  8. Westcoast Work Boat Association Fall Rendezvous | Friday 25th to Sunday 27th | Kanaka Dock: 127 Fulford Ganges Road | Walk the wharves and see some of the many working boats of the West Coast. Meet the captains, learn about the history of working boats and see why they continue to be a popular part of our seafaring heritage.
  9. Seth Berkowitz Photography Exhibit | Friday 25th to Tuesday 29th | 10:00am to 5:00pm | Artspring:  100 Jackson Avenue | Seth Berkowitz exhibits a solo show of new and old photographs, spanning 15 years of photographic work. The photographs encompass three themes: St Roch II the Arctic, Two Yellow Lines and new panoramic images.
  10. Enjoy the sights and smells of Autumn atop Mount Erskine! This incredible trail winds up to an incredible viewpoint northwards to Vancouver Island and the Gulf Salt Spring TweedIslands - on clear days, hikers can see Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast. Start from the Collins Road trail head or the trail midpoint at the terminus of Trustees Trail. Keep an eye out for the incredible Fairy Doors hidden along the trail!
  11. Terry Fox Run | Sunday 21st | 11:00am | Starts: Rainbow Road Public Pool, 262 Rainbow Road | By Donation | Honor one of British Columbia's most inspiring figures, Terry Fox, at the Salt Spring Island Terry Fox Run - take part in the 9km, 4.5km, or 1.3km which are suitable for all ages and abilities.
  12. Chocolate Beach OuthouseKayak, paddle board or motorboat to one of the area's most interesting beaches located on Third Sister Island in Ganges Harbour, Chocolate Beach! Accessible only by water, this unique crushed shell beach offers warm, shallow waters, an unparalleled view, a small trail along the spine of the island and one of the most unique outhouses on the West Coast!
  13. Join a global hide and seek hunt by trying Geocaching! Search for treasures hidden across the Island by using GPS-enabled devices (including cell phones) to find specific coordinates where geocaches (containers) are hidden! Whether it's your first time (register for a membership here and learn more about geocaching here), or you're a seasoned veteran, this worldwide phenomenon links people of all ages and abilities! Be sure to bring something to leave in the geocache for the next visitor if you are taking something out!
  14. Salt Spring Island is foremost known as an artist's mecca which makes Salt Spring Island's Saturday Market a must-visit! What's better than visiting them at their own studios? The Salt Spring Studio Tour has 28 studios to visit across the Island! Meet Moonstruck FarmCheyenne Goh of Salt Spring Tweed who sews spectacular up-cycled bags, purses and accessories; escape to Provence, France with artist Darlene Lane of French Country Fabrics or step into the literal volcano at the The Glass Foundry where artist Mark Lauckner creates incredible works from recycled glass!

Salt Spring Island Farm Tour | Date: TBA | 10:00am to 5:00pm | Various Farms on Salt Spring Island | Free - $10 | Experience farm life on Salt Spring Island at the annual Salt Spring Island Farm Tour which allows tour goers to see how life on the farm is really like. From growing vegetables and fruits to raising dairy or meat animals, there is no shortage of interesting farms to explore. Watch demonstrations, attend workshops, enjoy tastings and meals and peruse farm stands in celebration of farming!
