  2. Love apples? You'll love Salt Spring heritage apples in liquid form at Salt Spring Wild Cider! Explore the Cider Barn (151 Sharp Road) which showcases the incredible variety of heritage apples on the island. Open daily from 12:00pm to 6:00pm with eight different ciders including dry, semi-dry, hopped apricot, elderberry-flower, pear, wild berry, plum and ice cider (while supplies last!). Enjoy a bottle or a tasting at the cider house gardens, which boast a spectacular view of a valley and surrounding orchards!
  3. Salt Spring has all the ingredients to make your Thanksgiving unforgettable! Pick up everything you need for a mouth-watering local feast from turkey to sides at the Saturday Market or Tuesday Market, farmstands, cheeseries, vineyards, breweries and cider houses as well as local shops!   9. October is mushroom season in British Columbia! Head out for a mushroom hunt and keep a look out for some of the dozens of mushroom species that grow on Salt Spring IslandScarlet Waxcap Mushrooms on Salt Spring Island including red lobsters, chantrelles, oyster, morel,  puff balls, scarlet waxcaps, black cap fungi and many more! Although tempting, be careful not to pick mushrooms without the help of an expert, or even better, leave them be for everyone's enjoyment.

Salt Spring Folk Club Presents: Los Texmaniacs | Monday 21st | 7:00pm | Fulford Community Hall: 2591 Fulford-Ganges Road | $25 (Seasons pass: $125) | Los Texmaniacs is a conjunto band created by Max Baca in 1997. Baca wanted to create a band that incorporated elements from genres such as Rock & Roll and Jazz while still honoring the roots of conjunto Tejano. In 2010 Los Texmaniacs won a Grammy Award for Tejano Album of The Year "Borders y Bailes".

Ballet Jazz De Montreal: Danse 2 | Monday 17th - Tuesday 18th | 7:30pm to 9:30pm | Artspring: 100 Jackson Avenue | $5 - $23 | An internationally renowned repertory company, BJM has continued to grow with all the energy and spirit of exploration for which it has been known since its birth in 1972.
