Pitchfork Social: Harry Manx with Kevin Breit | Saturday 13th | 7:30pm | Fulford Hall: 2591, Fulford-Ganges Road | $45 | A master of the slide guitar and the Indian Mohan Veena, Harry Manx is no stranger to Salt Spring Island. A long-time resident, he can often be seen driving his pick-up truck into town with his dog sitting in the back. What is not obvious though is that he tours internationally and has earned six Juno Nominations, seven Maple Blues Awards, Folk Artist of the Year , Blues Artist of the Year (seven times) and Album of the Year here in Canada. Kevin Breit is the former guitarist for several well known artists. He has earned 2 Juno Awards and played on 13 Grammy winning recordings. Manx and Breit have made three recordings together (2 of which were Juno nominated) and have performed shows together which are typically unrehearsed and totally spontaneous.
