statement: My
works express a consistent
determination to
re-interpret landscape with
painted abstractions which
express the essential
elements of form, colour and
composition. My influences
are in part from Northwest
Coast Native art, The Group
of Seven and the Japanese
tradition of art
representing a
"dialogue" with
nature with its emphasis on
the simplification of form
and colour within a
restrained poetic balance.
