Farm
statement:
We have owned our farm since 1997 and grow apples, pears, plums, cherries, berries and our bees produce honey for sale. Our main product is apple juice pressed from our apples. We are not certified organic, but we follow the Canadian Organic Growers guidelines. We do not use pesticides or synthetic fertilizers in our orchards.
Since we own agricultural land, we feel that we have a responsibility to produce food for the community. We believe that locally organically produced food is best for the community for many reasons: for improving and sustaining the health of the community, for the care of the environment that such production requires, for the reduction of the reliance on oil that food grown locally can mean, and for the sense of community the production of food engenders.
